Endoscopy RN

The position

This is a PRN (as needed) Endoscopy RN role at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. There's no call requirement, which isn't something you find every day. You'll care for endoscopy patients during pre op and recovery. And here's the part I like ; you'll rotate between the inpatient endoscopy department (Outpatient Diagnostics) and Mercy's new outpatient digestive health institute, the Kathryn Ann Meinders. That kind of variety matters if you don't want to stare at the same four walls shift after shift.

What you'll do

• Use the nursing process to guide patient care from start to finish
• Maintain professional accountability for the patients assigned to you
• Evaluate how well the care provided by other direct caregivers is working
• Coordinate patient care with other departments so nothing falls through the cracks
• Protect patient rights and keep patient information confidential
• Carry out your duties in a way that reflects Mercy's mission, values, and Service Standards

What you need

• A nursing degree from an accredited school ; that's required
• A bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred, but not required
• Two years of critical care nursing experience is preferred
• A current RN license in the state where you'll work
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
