You might not know this route, but that's okay.

Prairie Farms is hiring a Route Sales Driver for a relief position in Oklahoma City, OK. This isn't a job where you sit behind the wheel all day. You'll be selling, delivering, stacking, collecting money, and handling customer issues. The pay is $1,120.00 per week.

What you'll actually do

Drive a truck over an established route and deliver dairy products to customers. Collect cash, make change, and record every transaction on a receipt. Write up customer orders and instructions. Record sales or delivery info on daily records. Call on new businesses to find new customers. Prepare order forms and sales contracts. Tell regular customers about new products. Listen to complaints and resolve them. Follow every Department of Transportation regulation.

You'll also load and unload product at each stop. Set up merchandise and sales promotion displays. Hand out sales promotion materials to customers. Pick up empty containers or rejected and unsold merchandise.

Expect to climb, crawl, and walk upright and bent over. Stack and unstack items weighing 50 pounds from about seven feet high down to the ground, and back up, over and over. Drag stacks of milk that weigh around 240 pounds throughout your shift. Carry merchandise in and out. You'll work in temperatures over 100 degrees and below freezing at different times of the year. Most of your time is spent outside, rain or shine, hot or cold. Keep the inside of the truck clean. Do routine maintenance on the truck. Drive and work safely and courteously.

What you need to bring to this job

• A Class A or Class B commercial driver's license (CDL)
• You must be at least 21 years old (federal D.O.T. rule)
• Pass a D.O.T. physical and a drug screen
• Past route sales experience and a clean driving record are preferred

Physical side of things

This work is physical. You'll lift 50 pound items from ground level to seven feet high repeatedly. You'll maneuver stacks of milk weighing about 240 pounds. You'll be in positions that require climbing, crawling, walking upright, and walking bent over. Outside work in extreme hot and cold is the norm, not the exception.
