About This Role
Got an opening for a Diesel Mechanic down in Oklahoma City, OK. It's on the afternoon shift, Monday through Friday from noon to 9 PM.
The Work
You're the one keeping our delivery fleet rolling. That means fixing things when they break and trying to stop them from breaking in the first place.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair all kinds of vehicles in our fleet.
- Handle the scheduled preventative maintenance.
- Sometimes you'll get a service call and need to go out to a truck.
- Keeping your tools and your work area clean is part of it.
- There will be times you need to pick up or drop off vehicles, too.
What You Need
A few things are non negotiable. A couple others would just make life easier for everyone.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- You need at least one year of experience working on light and heavy equipment.
- A Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required for this job.
- The company provides the big stuff, but you'll need to bring your own set of standard automotive hand tools.
Now, here’s what we'd really love to see:
- If you've got three or more years as a journeyman mechanic, that's perfect.
- Experience with gasoline, diesel, and propane vehicles is a huge plus.
- Any ASE certifications you have are definitely welcome.
- Show us you've got a knack for mechanical work and figuring things out technically.
Schedule & Pay
The schedule is Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM. No weekends on this shift unless something really unusual comes up.
The starting pay is between $24.53 and $33.51 an hour. Where you land depends on your experience and those certifications we talked about. On top of that hourly rate, there are ways to earn more: performance incentives, quarterly bonuses if we hit our goals, and referral bonuses if you bring good people onboard. The pay structure is built so doing good work pays off directly for you.
The Other Stuff (Benefits)
- Comprehensive medical insurance plans.
- Dental and vision coverage.
- A 401(k) plan with a company match.
- Paid vacation time.
- Sick leave.
