About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this CT Technologist spot at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. It's a part time, as needed (PRN) position. You'll be covering evenings and weekends, filling in where you're needed most.

What you'll do

You're the one running the show for CT and diagnostic imaging. That means reading the orders, positioning patients just right, and choosing the correct technical settings for each person. You'll operate the equipment, handle contrast agents and meds under a physician's direction, and make sure everyone follows proper safety protocols.

  • Work with our radiology information system and all the office tech.
  • Pitch in across different areas of radiology when things get busy.
  • Keep an eye on the equipment; if something needs fixing or we need something new, you'll help make that call.
  • If anything unusual happens with a procedure or a person on your shift, you report it to the Section Manager.

What you need to bring

This is actually a career ladder role. Where you start depends entirely on your background. Here’s how it breaks down.

CT Technologist (Entry Level)

  • A graduate from an accredited Imaging Program with your clinical hours done.
  • No prior experience is required to start here.
  • You must have your ARRT registry OR be registry eligible. If you're eligible, you need to achieve that full registry within six months.
  • Get your Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of starting.
  • A state license might be needed; it depends on where we practice.

Advanced CT Technologist

  • The same educational background: graduate of an accredited program.
  • At least one year of relevant CT experience.
  • You must already have your ARRT (CT) certification and BLS.
  • State licensure may apply here too.

Senior CT Technologist

  • The same educational foundation is required.
  • A minimum of two years in relevant CT work is necessary for this level.

A quick note: if you're moving up the ladder from within Mercy, there are specific competency checklists to complete for each step up. We'll figure out your starting level based on your schooling, certifications, and hands on experience.

The practical stuff & benefits

The schedule is part time PRN. You're covering those weekend and evening shifts as they come up. And there are a few ongoing boxes to check once you're here:

  • Keep your CPR/BLS certification current and be ready to help with first aid if needed.
  • Stay on top of any continuing education required by the credentialing agency.
