What This Job Is About
You'd be working as a Dietitian at U.S. Renal Care in Oceanside, CA. This is a role where you're part of an interdisciplinary team, and your focus is people living with kidney disease. You'll operate under the supervision of a RDN Regional Manager. It's direct, it's clinical, and it matters.
What You'll Actually Do
Patient Nutrition. You'll recommend therapeutic diets based on each patient's needs, preferences, and changes in their treatment. That means consulting with the patient's physician using the most current, science based practices available. You'll review lab results and educate patients on things like fluid and sodium management, potassium, and CKD Mineral and Bone Disorder. You'll also conduct patient assessments, handle care planning, and take part in monthly interdisciplinary patient care conferences.
Teamwork. You'll collaborate with the Medical Director, physicians, advanced practice providers, the facility administrator, social workers, nurses, and patient care technicians. You'll help maintain positive relationships with area hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, agencies, vendors, and the broader community.
Safety and Quality. You'll help with clinical and operational processes, always aiming to improve patient health and hit target goals for patient outcomes. And you'll help keep a productive quality assurance program going. That includes participating in monthly Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities.
What You Need to Bring
- Current Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) certification ; you need to show proof of registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. That includes a Baccalaureate or Advanced degree.
- At least one year of experience in clinical nutrition as a Registered Dietitian.
- A current Dietitian (LD/LDN) license in the applicable state. That's required, unless you're employed in AZ, CA, CO, HI, IN, MI, NJ, or VA.
- If you're in CT or NY, you need state certification (Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist).
- Your license must be current and in good standing at all times.
- Working knowledge of the English language, both verbal and written.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). You'll need proficiency in all company clinical applications within 90 days of hire.
- You must meet any practice requirements for the applicable state.
