Speech Language Pathologist

About This Role

Who we are

Jabbergym is a pediatric private practice. We're part of the Point Quest Group, and we specialize in helping new graduate Clinical Fellows get their start. Our team has the tools, the mentor network, and the resources to give you real hands on guidance from your very first day. We believe in keeping caseloads manageable and making sure you feel supported while you build your career.

The role

We're hiring Speech Language Pathologists and New Grad Clinical Fellows for our pediatric settings in Oakland, CA. This isn't a one size fits all job. You'll work across clinic, early intervention, and school based settings ; which means you get to broaden your skills and discover what you love most.

What you'll actually do

  • Conduct compliant formalized and dynamic assessments to determine educational eligibility and level of functioning.
  • Complete observations and evaluations; manage annual and triennial reviews.
  • Develop and maintain compliant IEPs; participate in multi disciplinary teams.
  • Coordinate treatment plans with interdisciplinary team members to make sure each child gets real educational benefit.
  • Consult with families and other team members to help target skills generalize beyond therapy sessions.
  • Oversee Speech Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPAs) when assigned ; that includes monitoring supervision hours and supporting their professional development.
  • Keep accurate records of student progress: therapy notes, assessment data, everything needed for reporting based on research backed methods.

Scheduling details worth knowing

We use a salary based model here. You work 10 months out of the year but receive a steady paycheck for all 12 months. That means you can enjoy your summer breaks and holidays without worrying about financial stability. Full time school employees are encouraged to schedule time off during school breaks; any requests get reviewed by a supervisor so normal operations aren't disrupted too much.

The kind of person we're looking for

  • A Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders is required.
  • You need to pass DOJ/FBI Livescan background check plus TB clearance before starting.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the US.
  • You've got strong organizational skills, problem solving instincts, and solid interpersonal abilities ; those matter here more than any checklist.
  • Knowledge of evidence based practices and special education programs is preferred but not required if you're green but eager.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are non negotiable since you'll be talking with families, teachers, clinicians all day long.

The perks that make it worth it

  • Earn up to $10k in bonuses throughout your first year or so ; seriously apply if that catches your eye because it's real money on the table from day one.
