About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this RN position at MUSC Health Rehabilitation Hospital in North Charleston, SC. It's an affiliate of Encompass Health. I've been placing nurses with them for a while, and they run a serious operation. They're looking for someone who gets that inpatient rehab is its own world.

The Work

You're the nurse leading the shift. You'll supervise care treatments and do those initial patient assessments that set the tone for everything. Developing and adjusting individualized care plans is central; you're not just following orders, you're actively shaping the path based on what you see and what the patient tells you.

It means building real relationships with patients and their families to understand what they need to recover. You're the point person, collaborating with therapy teams, doctors, and other departments to make sure care is coordinated. Sometimes that means jumping in to provide direct patient care yourself.

And you're a resource for your colleagues. They'll come to you with questions or for support on more complex cases. The best part? You get to be there for the wins, big and small, when a patient hits a milestone.

What You Need To Bring

  • A valid RN license for our state.
  • Current CPR certification. If you've got ACLS too, that's a strong plus.
  • They'd love it if you're already a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN), but it's not a must have starting out.
  • Ideally, you've spent at least one year working in a rehabilitation hospital setting. You know the pace and the goals are different here.

The Schedule & Benefits

This is specifically for their "Weekend + 1" schedule option. The benefits kick in on your very first day, which isn't always the case.

  • Medical, dental, and vision plans that are actually affordable for full time and part time employees and their families.
  • Paid time off that builds up as you're here.
  • Tuition reimbursement and support for continuing education.
  • A 401(k) with a company match and an employee stock purchase plan.
  • Flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts available.

A Bit About Them

Encompass Health is a national leader in inpatient rehab, and they're growing. They've racked up some notable recognition like being on Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For list. The team culture tends to be pretty focused on the patient mission; it's a group that takes pride in what they do.
