About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this District Manager role. You'd be overseeing dining services for a group of facilities in the Norfolk, VA region. It's an operations job at its core; you're the main point of contact between our company and the building administrators, making sure everything runs smoothly across the board.
What you'd be doing
You're managing the whole operation for multiple sites. That means supervising the staff, handling their training and schedules, and making sure we're hitting all our marks.
- Keeping every location compliant with our internal policies, plus all the federal and state regulations.
- You'll manage records for everything: finances, supplies, personnel, and equipment for all your sites.
- A big part of the job is communication. You're the link between the facility administration and our HCSG teams, so clarity and consistency are crucial.
- The rest of it? It's whatever needs doing to keep things moving forward.
What you need to bring
We need someone who knows how to run a food service operation and lead people. A bachelor's degree in management or something similar is nice to have, but at minimum you need a high school diploma or GED.
- At least two years in quantity food production or service, with experience supervising personnel.
- Any specialized training in dining services management or nutrition is a definite plus.
- You've got to be organized and know how to talk to people; from building residents to administrators to your own team. A positive attitude goes a long way here.
- Experience managing profit/loss statements and budgets is required. We need someone who's grown accounts before.
- You must be able to take required compliance courses online and then put what you learn into practice on site.
- Basic computer skills are necessary for web based reporting systems.
- The job requires a valid driver's license, and you must live within the Norfolk, VA service area.
- You have to comply with our COVID 19 vaccination policies.
The physical side of things
This isn't a desk only job. You'll be in kitchens and dining areas.
- You should be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and push/pull the same amount.
- Expect extended periods of standing, sitting, bending, and walking during site visits.
- The work involves routine tasks performed continuously, and you'll be around food and cleaning products daily.
The stuff we provide
The benefits are pretty solid. They're available to everyone from day one.
- Unlimited Paid Time Off policy. Use it as you need it.
