About This Role
We're hiring a driver for our residential routes in Norfolk, VA right now. This isn't a temp gig; it's steady, secure work with a team that feels more like family.
What You'll Do
You'll run a garbage truck on a set route to collect solid waste. You need to be comfortable working by yourself; this is a physically demanding job where you're loading and unloading all day, often without helpers.
- Safely operate the truck along your specified route.
- Read your route sheet and service every customer on it.
- Do a thorough pre trip and post trip inspection of your vehicle every day.
- Operate the hydraulic controls to lift, load, and dispose of refuse.
- Interact with customers courteously. It's simple: we keep our promises to them.
What You Need to Have
A few things are non negotiable for this job. We need you to be safe, reliable, and ready to work hard.
- A valid Class B CDL with an air brakes endorsement.
- A clean safety and driving record.
- The strength to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
- You'll be climbing in and out of the cab all day, so you need to handle bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and grasping without issue.
