HVAC Technician (Residential)

The Job

R S Andrews of Tidewater Heating, Cooling needs a Residential HVAC Lead Installer in Newport News, VA. This is full time, year round work ; not seasonal, not temporary. You'll be the person running the installation, with a helper assigned to back you up. It's a role for someone who knows their way around furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners, and complete HVAC systems.

What You'll Actually Do

• Remove old HVAC systems ; furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioning units ; and replace them with new equipment
• Install residential heating and air conditioning systems following manufacturer specs and local HVAC codes
• Lead the installation with an HVAC installer helper working alongside you
• Start up, test, and troubleshoot new equipment once it's in place
• Make sure every installation meets safety, quality, and inspection standards
• Keep the job site clean and professional through the whole process

What You Need

• At least 3 years of residential HVAC installation experience
• Experience installing heating and air conditioning systems
• Comfort leading installations with a helper
• Working knowledge of local HVAC inspection codes
• EPA Certification ; or the ability to get it
• A valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Ability to lift heavy HVAC equipment and work in attics or crawlspaces
• Must pass background check and drug screening

Pay and Benefits

• Pay range is $60,000 to $100,000 per year
• Earning potential goes over $100,000 per year depending on performance
