What You'll Do

You're running solo loads across a bunch of Midwest and Eastern states. Your main job is to get the freight where it needs to go, safely and legally.

• Run routes primarily to Michigan, Wisconsin, Kansas, Pennsylvania, New Jersey (not NYC), New York (not NYC), South Carolina, North Carolina, Ohio, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia.
• You're hauling 53 foot dry van or curtainside trailers. The freight is molding and building products.
• This is touch freight; you'll be responsible for load securement with straps and bungees.
• Keeping up with your logs and records is part of the deal.
• Sometimes you'll load or unload if the customer requires it.
• You're the captain of your truck. Making safe decisions is your responsibility, and they back that up with job protection.

The Schedule & Pay

This is a full time gig. They dispatch in the morning, Sunday through Friday. You'll be out 3 4 nights a week.

The pay structure has a few pieces. Here’s how it breaks down weekly:

• Solo miles pay is $0.52 per mile. You can expect 2500 to 3000 miles a week.
• You also get $19.05 per stop, with typically 3 to 7 stops a week.
• Add that up, and they estimate it at about $1500 per week.
• On top of that, there's a safety bonus that pays out $500 every quarter.
• Stay for six months and get a $1750 loyalty bonus. Get another $1750 at your one year mark.

What You Need to Have

• A valid Class A CDL with all necessary endorsements for this position. No automatic transmission restrictions on your license.
• You need verifiable tractor trailer experience. They have a few ways to qualify: 9 months within the last 3 years; OR 2 years within the last 5 years; OR 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Minimum age is 21.
• You must pass a Ryder drug test, a DOT physical, and a road test with them.
• A background check and motor vehicle record check are required.
• They will verify drug and alcohol testing history from your previous employers for the last three years.
