About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this job. I'm looking for a Speech Language Pathologist to join the team at VNS Health in New York, NY. This isn't about sitting in a clinic all day. You're designing and delivering one on one rehab therapy for people in their own homes or care facilities. Your patients are dealing with tough disorders or recovering from surgery, illness, or an accident. You'll see their progress by being part of their daily life.
What you'll do
You're practicing independently out in the community, but you're not alone. You're part of an interdisciplinary care team.
- You conduct comprehensive assessments to figure out what each patient truly needs.
- From there, you develop the course of action, including the treatment plan and expected outcomes.
- The therapy you deliver is personalized and happens where the patient lives.
- A big part of the job is constantly evaluating how a patient's needs change and adjusting the plan of care in response.
What you need to bring
- A New York State license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist or Audiologist is mandatory.
- You need at least one year of speech language pathology experience. There's an alternative: successfully completing a probationary period as a VNS Health Rehab Intern also works.
- A valid driver's license is required if you're working anywhere outside the borough of Manhattan.
The details & what we provide
This is for a per diem per visit position. The pay range is $70 to $75 per visit.
Now, about the other stuff that matters:
- The paid time off here is genuinely generous. It starts at 30 days off plus 9 company holidays.
- We've got health insurance plans for you and your family; medical, dental, vision, life, and disability are all part of it.
- There's an employer matched retirement savings fund.
- We offer programs for your personal and financial wellness.
- You can use pre tax flexible spending accounts for healthcare and dependent care costs.
- If you're pursuing a qualifying degree, the tuition reimbursement is substantial.
- We push for professional growth. That means real opportunities for career advancement and internal mobility.
- There are referral bonus opportunities, plus CEU credits and other programs to help you advance clinically.
