Faculty Physician Assistant
This is a faculty role in a growing Physician Assistant program. You'll teach, mentor, and help shape the next generation of healthcare providers while staying involved in clinical education and curriculum work.
What you'll do
- Deliver classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction to PA students
- Work on curriculum development and program evaluation
- Advise and mentor students throughout the program
- Evaluate student academic and clinical performance
- Support clinical site development and build relationships with preceptors
- Sit on faculty committees and help with accreditation processes
- Pursue professional development and scholarly activities
What you bring to it
- A current Physician Assistant certification (NCCPA) or eligibility for it
- A master's degree or higher in a relevant field; doctoral preferred but not required for all candidates
- A valid PA license in New York, NY or the ability to get one before starting
- Clinical experience as a practicing PA ; at least two years out of school is typical for this kind of role
- Previous teaching or precepting experience isn't mandatory but it helps your case considerably; we'll consider strong clinicians who want to move into education.
- The desire to train others, work collaboratively, and stay current in both clinical practice and educational methods.
The pay and benefits package
The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $115,000 per year. You also get comprehensive benefits ; think medical, dental, vision coverage. How this works day to day
Schedules vary with the academic calendar. You'll have dedicated time for teaching, student advising, committee meetings, and your own scholarship. Some evening or weekend commitments happen during exam periods or special events. But generally you're working standard academic hours with flexibility built into how you manage your prep time.
A note about location: This job requires you to be physically present on campus in New York, NY most days during the academic year. It's not remote or hybrid beyond occasional arrangements.
