About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this job. It's a pest control technician trainee role with Ecolab in New York, NY. I've been placing people here for years, and it's a solid path if you're looking to build a real career in the field, not just do a job. You'll start with paid training and get all the certifications you need. The schedule is nights, which isn't for everyone, but it's a good gig if that works for you.
What You'll Do
You're going to learn the business from the ground up. The first five weeks are a paid training program where they teach you everything: how to find pests, get rid of them, and stop them from coming back.
- After training, you'll work with commercial customers. Think restaurants, hotels; places where cleanliness is everything.
- Your job is to partner with them. You'll inspect their facilities, figure out what they need, and recommend solutions.
- You'll use handheld tech to document what you find; structural issues, sanitation problems, pest activity.
- The goal is to provide high quality service that's both timely and cost effective. You'll have supervision at first as you get your feet under you.
- A big part of this is getting licensed. You have to obtain the required state or local pest control certification and business licensing; Ecolab will help guide you through that process.

- You need to be available for on call duty during off hours and weekends when it's needed.
- You have to be at least 18 years old because of the nature and hours of the work.
- A company vehicle is involved, so there will be ongoing motor vehicle record checks.
