About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this role. It's for a Senior Event Operations Manager on our Marketing team here at Oscar. We're a health insurance company, but we built ourselves around a technology platform from the start. The goal was always to act more like a doctor in the family than a traditional insurer.
This job sits in our Event Marketing Center of Excellence. You'd be the go to person for helping other teams get their events off the ground, whether that's by managing them directly or by building the tools and guides so they can run things themselves. You'll report to the Associate Director of Corporate Events.
The Work
You're running point on assigned event programs from start to finish. That means keeping everything on track, managing communications with everyone involved, and being the expert on how to actually make an event happen.
- You'll coordinate with internal teams and outside agencies on all the functional pieces: finding venues and hotels, working with contractors, handling A/V and production, sorting out food and beverage, arranging temporary staff, and making sure we cover health, safety, accessibility, design, and transportation.
- A big part of this is creating scalable systems. We need playbooks and training materials; both written and visual; that empower other people in our matrixed organization to run their own events successfully.
- Helping develop budgets, preparing regular reports, and tracking how programs perform are all in your wheelhouse.
- Think of yourself as a strategic advisor for internal stakeholders; you're there to provide support and guidance on every aspect of pulling an event together.
- And of course, making sure everything complies with all applicable laws and regulations is non negotiable.
What You Bring
We need someone who's been doing this for a while. You've got at least 8 years under your belt planning and executing event marketing programs.
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required. That could be event management, hospitality, technical theatre, marketing, communications, business; something along those lines.
- You have deep expertise managing multiple event operations areas. We're talking sourcing, space planning, venue management, vendor contracts, F&B coordination budgeting risk management compliance accessibility health and safety and atmospheric design.
- Your experience covers a wide range of event formats: hospitality programs ancillary events tradeshows corporate meetings you name it.
- You're an experienced project manager who can juggle multiple tasks shift priorities quickly solve problems proactively and work independently with minimal oversight.
- You've delivered events from inside a brand or corporation before not just from an agency side.
The Nice to Haves
A few things that would really make you stand out:
- A Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation is a plus.
- So is experience with field marketing especially designing and operationalizing programs aligned to specific regions or fields.
- We use various marketing workplace productivity tech; familiarity with that landscape is helpful. Experience using AI tools to optimize how you design and deliver your work is also a bonus point for us.
The Practical Details
The base pay range for this role is $135 792 to $178 227 per year On top of that you're eligible for our employee benefits package participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program annual performance bonuses This position is based in New York, NY It's a hybrid role requiring 3 days in office per week Thursdays are set as our required team day; your other two office days are flexible around your schedule
