About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this dentist role at Tend in New York, NY. We're doing things differently here, and we need a dentist who wants that too. Someone who gets excited about high level clinical work but is tired of the old school practice model. This isn't about just filling cavities; it's about building a modern studio where patients actually look forward to coming in.
The Work You'll Do
You'll be busy. From day one, you'll have a full schedule of patients waiting for you in a studio that's designed to make your job better. You won't be stuck doing only basic procedures.
- Your scope is broad: restorative work like inlays, onlays, crowns, and veneers; endodontics; extractions; implants; and cosmetic dentistry.
- You'll lead comprehensive exams and create treatment plans that are actually centered on what the patient needs and wants.
- We treat the whole patient. That includes diagnosing TMJ conditions and providing therapeutic Botox as part of a care plan.
- You'll become a go to for clear aligner therapy, handling everything from diagnosis to bonding and follow ups.
- We also integrate sleep medicine. You'll evaluate patients for sleep disordered breathing and incorporate those solutions when needed.
How We Work
It's a team sport here. You're not an island.
- You'll partner closely with assistants, hygienists, and the studio manager to deliver care that feels seamless to the patient.
- We're obsessed with the schedule. You'll review it ahead of time, strategize in daily huddles with the team, and jump on same day treatment opportunities to keep things moving.
- The goal is driving production through smart diagnosis and completing full treatment plans efficiently, but never at the cost of quality.
- A big part of your job is communication; making sure patients understand their options, the timeline, and what to expect every step of the way.
The Career Path
This role can go one of two ways, depending on your experience and what you want.
As an Associate Dentist, your focus is delivering exceptional clinical care in our supported environment. You'll grow your skillset with complex cases and advanced procedures.
As a Lead Dentist, you take on leadership. That means mentoring other dentists, hygienists, and assistants. You'll help guide clinical standards, lead training sessions, and partner directly with the Studio Manager to shape how the studio performs. You'll own complex case reviews and patient escalations to ensure great outcomes. It's about building a high performing culture.
Compensation & Support
We've built a compensation model that rewards high performance clearly. No guesswork.
- Everyone gets a guaranteed daily rate for stability.
- On top of that, you earn a percentage of adjusted production.
- Associate Dentists: 30% to 35%
- Lead Dentists: 32% to 40%, which reflects the added leadership impact.
- - Lead Dentists are also eligible for a monthly bonus based on studio performance metrics.
