The Role
Supplemental Health Care is looking for a CT Technologist to work a contract at a partnered hospital in New York, NY. If you have a steady hand and a good eye for imaging, this could be a solid move for your next 13 weeks. It's a chance to put your skills to use in a real hospital setting, where you'll be working with patients and equipment every day.
What You'll Be Doing
- Operating computerized tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images for physicians.
- Sterilizing radiologic equipment to keep the workspace safe for everyone.
- Explaining scanning procedures to patients so they know what to expect and feel at ease.
- Keeping patients safe and comfortable; that includes following proper radiation protection practices.
- Reviewing CT scans to make sure they meet good technical quality before sending them off.
Qualifications
You'll need an Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Your current ARRT certification in Radiography (R) is required, and ARRT (CT) certification is preferred but not mandatory. An active state radiologic technologist license is needed if your state requires one. BLS from the American Heart Association is required; ACLS is preferred. You should have 1 to 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, and prior CT imaging experience is strongly preferred. A solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and CT imaging protocols is a must.
Contract Details
This is a 13 week contract with the possibility of an extension. AM shifts are available, and you'll work 40 hours per week. The pay range is $2,380 to $2,666 per week. Your recruiter can give you the specifics.
