About This Role

What you'd be doing

You're the person helping everything run smoothly from the moment a patient walks in. You'll work directly with providers and other staff to make sure care is timely and respectful.

  • Getting patients ready for exams, taking vitals, and updating their medical history.
  • Assisting providers during exams, procedures, and treatments.
  • Giving medications and vaccinations under a provider's direction.
  • Collecting lab specimens, running basic tests, and keeping everything documented correctly.
  • You'll also help explain things to patients, providing health information and instructions.
  • Keeping exam rooms stocked, clean, and organized is part of the routine.
  • A big part of the job is managing patient flow so the clinic stays efficient.
  • All patient info is handled with strict HIPAA compliance.
  • The role includes some admin work too, like updating records in their electronic medical record system.

The background we need

A few specific things are required to step into this role. Other things would give you a real edge.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • You must have finished an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • A current CMA, RMA, or CCMA credential is strongly preferred.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification is required from day one.
  • A phlebotomy certification would be great but isn't mandatory.

The experience that fits

This isn't an entry level training position. They really want someone who's done this before in a real clinic setting. If you've got that experience, you're exactly who they're hoping to find. Being bilingual in English and Spanish is another huge plus for working with their patient population here in New York, NY.

The schedule & pay

The pay range for this position is $16 to $18 per hour.
