Business Development Representative
About This Role
HarmonyCares is a family of companies focused on home based healthcare. We've been the largest practice of our kind for 28 years, and we're looking for someone to represent us in the New York, NY community. This isn't a desk job; it's about building real relationships and connecting people with care.
What you'll do
You're the local face of HarmonyCares. Your main job is to get out there, talk to people, and explain what we do. You'll be managing relationships with facilities, community partners, and directly with potential patients and their families.
- Analyze your local market to understand how we fit in and stand out.
- Educate the community about our mission: bringing personalized, quality healthcare to patients at home.
- Meet regularly with key decision makers at referral partners, hitting your goals for in person and virtual meetings.
- Become an expert on patient eligibility and our enrollment process so you can guide people through it.
- Schedule discussions with patients and caregivers to explain our programs and benefits.
- For patients interested in specific Medicare payment models we participate in, you'll inform them about the program and collect necessary forms if they choose to enroll.
- Triage inbound calls from patients, families, or facility staff about care needs, scheduling, or billing to the right internal department.
- Track all your outreach activities, calls made, and meetings scheduled using our CRM system. You'll manage your territory against budgeted targets.
A bit more about the role
You need a valid driver's license and a good driving record because you'll be traveling within your assigned territory. There will be sales meetings to attend as well. You're expected to work independently most of the time; after training, you won't need someone looking over your shoulder to get things done. And of course, you'll adhere to all company policies and legal requirements, especially around marketing practices and HIPAA privacy rules.
The background we're looking for
We need someone who understands both sales and healthcare. You don't necessarily need a degree if you have the right experience.
- A Bachelor's Degree or at least four years of B2B sales experience is required.
- You also need a minimum of two years in health care industry sales or marketing.
- You know sales techniques inside out and how to manage a territory effectively.
- Your communication skills are top notch; you're just as comfortable giving a presentation as you are having a one on one conversation with a concerned family member.
- You're organized, a strong problem solver, and can accurately represent everything our company offers.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Outlook; they're daily tools here.
