IT Consultant

Job Overview

This IT Consultant role is for someone who thrives on solving business problems with technology. You'll work directly with clients in the New Orleans, LA area, diagnosing their tech challenges and mapping out practical solutions. The work is project based, which means you're always tackling something new.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of client IT infrastructure and software systems to identify gaps and inefficiencies.
• Develop clear implementation roadmaps and present recommendations to stakeholders who aren't tech experts.
• Guide clients through the selection and deployment of new hardware, software, or cloud services.
• Provide hands on support during critical migration phases to ensure a smooth transition.
• Create documentation and train client teams so they can manage systems independently after you roll off.

Requirements

• A solid background in network administration, cloud platforms (like AWS or Azure), or enterprise software.
• You need at least three years of experience in a client facing technical role; help desk alone won't cut it.
• A relevant bachelor's degree or industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, PMP, ITIL) are expected.
• The job involves managing multiple client deadlines. You'll need to stay organized under pressure and think clearly when systems go down unexpectedly.

What It's Like In This Role

You're usually on site at a client's office in New Orleans, LA, though some remote advisory work happens too. Consultants often pair up on larger projects, so you'll collaborate but also own your pieces. The toolkit varies by client, but you'll regularly use remote access software, network analyzers, and project management apps like Jira.
