The job in a nutshell

TriStar Summit Medical Center in Nashville, TN is looking for an Outpatient Wound Care RN. This isn't a desk job. You'll be working in a 35 bed Acute Medical Care and Oncology Unit, taking care of adults with a wide range of medical diagnoses. The oncology side means you'll get a chance to become chemotherapy certified and you'll care for hospice and palliative patients too. Summit is the busiest Level 3 trauma hospital in Tennessee, a 234 bed facility serving Davidson, Wilson, and surrounding counties. We're an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI and a Primary Stroke Center. So you're not just joining any unit ; you're joining a hospital that's a leader in emergency heart and stroke care.

What you'll actually do

• Manage wound care for outpatients, working with a team that includes physicians and other nurses
• Assess, plan, and implement treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic wounds
• Document care thoroughly and communicate with patients and their families about progress
• Work in a unit that also cares for oncology, hospice, and palliative patients
• Depending on your interests, you can grow into a Charge Nurse role, become a Preceptor, join a Unit Based Council, or move into leadership

What you need to bring

• An active RN license from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or a compact state
• An Associate's degree in nursing (a Bachelor's is preferred but not required)
• BLS certification ; you need to have it or get it within 90 days of starting
• ACLS certification ; you'll need to get that within 6 months of hire or transfer
• At least one year of clinical nursing experience is preferred but not required
