About This Role
What you'll do
You're the person behind the images that guide treatment. That means operating the ultrasound equipment, adjusting settings, and positioning transducers to get the clearest pictures possible. Physicians depend on what you capture.
You'll follow strict safety and quality control procedures for every scan. Part of the job is working directly with doctors during more complex imaging studies, providing technical support and insights in real time.
And you're a critical set of eyes; you need to recognize significant anatomy, potential pathologies, and any imaging artifacts, troubleshooting issues as they come up.
What you need to have
A diploma or degree from an accredited Sonography program is required by your start date.
- You must have a BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within your first month here.
- You also need one of these specific credentials. You can get it within six months of starting if you don't have it already: ARRT certification as a Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography (plus General Radiography), Wisconsin State Radiology Technologist licensure, ARDMS credential as a Medical Sonographer, or a CCI credential as a Cardiographic Tech.
- Alternatively, an ARDMS Cardiac Sonographer credential is accepted if you have it before you start.
Any previous experience working as a Sonographer is a plus.
