The Job
BlueLinx is growing, and I'm looking for a Product Sales Manager to work with us in Nashville, TN. This isn't a desk job where you just push paper. It's a role for someone who knows building products inside and out and likes the challenge of matching them to the right customers.
You'll work alongside sales management and customers who actually want to grow their business. If you're confident in what you know about products and analytics, and comfortable working across different teams ; sales, supply chain, product management ; this could be a good fit.
What You'll Actually Do
- Build real client relationships that drive sales and long term profitability (not just quick wins)
- Find new sales opportunities with current customers and people you haven't met yet
- Optimize profitability, product mix, and inventory turnover for your assigned products
- Keep product performance on track while maintaining strong relationships with both customers and suppliers
- Provide sales and technical support when customers have issues or questions
- Develop pricing strategies that actually make sense in the market
- Communicate value propositions clearly; refine your sales approach when things aren't working
- Promote existing products but also introduce new ones to keep revenue growing
- Monitor sales performance numbers and build strategic pricing models based on what you see
- Collaborate internally with branches, supply chain teams, and other product managers
What You Need to Bring
- A bachelor's degree plus 4+ years of experience, or equivalent industry experience if you don't have the degree (we get it ; real world experience counts)
- A proven history of growing and maintaining a large book of business
- The ability to juggle multiple priorities without dropping anything important; organizational skills matter here
- The knack for working cross functionally without stepping on toes or getting blocked by silos
- Real expertise in customer support, inventory management, and consultative selling processes
