NICU RN

About This Role

The Job

TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN needs a NICU RN. This is a role where you'll coordinate patient care, educate patients and their families about health conditions, and provide emotional support. You'll use independent and reasonable judgment within your nursing scope. We're a 740+ bed comprehensive facility with a 43 acre campus, home to a Children's Hospital, a Heart & Vascular Center, and a Women's Hospital.

What You'll Actually Do

  • Apply the nursing process to individualized care that meets each patient's needs.
  • Promote customer service initiatives on the unit.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, and treatment ; all according to the ages of the patients you serve.
  • Perform technical skills and procedures as needed.
  • Work with common NICU diagnoses: respiratory distress, prematurity, hypoglycemia, apnea, bradycardia, sepsis, temperature instability, and hyperbilirubinemia.

What You Need

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
  • Current licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing (or another acceptable Board of Nursing).
  • Current BLS certification. Other certifications per Provision of Care for your area of employment.
  • NRP certification within 90 days of hire.
  • STABLE certification within 6 months of hire.
  • 1 year of RN experience required.
  • NICU experience is preferred.
