About This Role
The Job
TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN needs a NICU RN. This is a role where you'll coordinate patient care, educate patients and their families about health conditions, and provide emotional support. You'll use independent and reasonable judgment within your nursing scope. We're a 740+ bed comprehensive facility with a 43 acre campus, home to a Children's Hospital, a Heart & Vascular Center, and a Women's Hospital.
What You'll Actually Do
- Apply the nursing process to individualized care that meets each patient's needs.
- Promote customer service initiatives on the unit.
- Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, and treatment ; all according to the ages of the patients you serve.
- Perform technical skills and procedures as needed.
- Work with common NICU diagnoses: respiratory distress, prematurity, hypoglycemia, apnea, bradycardia, sepsis, temperature instability, and hyperbilirubinemia.
What You Need
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
- Current licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing (or another acceptable Board of Nursing).
- Current BLS certification. Other certifications per Provision of Care for your area of employment.
- NRP certification within 90 days of hire.
- STABLE certification within 6 months of hire.
- 1 year of RN experience required.
- NICU experience is preferred.
