What You'll Be Doing

This is a Yard Driver position with PFG Customized in Nashville, TN. You'll move tractor trailers to and from the loading docks, and park loaded or empty trailers in the spots they need to go. Some days you'll also drive locally to take tractors or trailers to offsite maintenance or inspection facilities.

Every shift starts with safety checks. You'll do pre trip and post trip inspections on both the tractor and the trailer, making sure everything meets Department of Transportation (DOT) standards. If something's off, you report it and take the right action. You'll follow all DOT rules and company driving guidelines, and if you see a safety hazard, you speak up right away.

You'll handle paperwork when you take equipment offsite for maintenance. You're also responsible for keeping the tractor, the loading dock area, and the trailers clean and clear. At the end of your shift, you secure all equipment and finish any necessary paperwork. And yeah, other duties come up as needed ; you roll with it.

Schedule and Pay

The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, starting at 10am and running until the work is done. Shifts usually run 8 to 10 hours on average. You'll earn $22.50 per hour, plus an incentive for each trailer move. Overtime is required when it's needed, so make sure you can handle that.

What You Need to Have

6 months of tractor trailer experience ; that's the baseline
A valid CDL A license
You must be at least 21 years old
A clean Motor Vehicle Report for the past 3 years
A current DOT Health Card (or be able to get one)
You'll need to pass a pre employment drug test and a road test
Any state specific licensing or certification requirements (where applicable)
You need to work the scheduled hours, including required overtime
