The Role
This is a Clinical Resource Director position with HealthTrust Supply Chain in Nashville, TN. It's incentive eligible, which means your pay can go further based on performance. The job is essentially about leading the supply expense strategy for a hospital and making sure every dollar spent on supplies supports patient care without waste. You'll have real influence across the organization.
What You'll Do
- Build and put into action facility or division specific strategies that lower supply expense per adjusted admission. This isn't theoretical; you're expected to deliver measurable results.
- Find opportunities for supply expense margin improvement, especially in high cost departments like surgical services, the cath lab, ep lab, and special procedures.
- Track supply expense variances at your facility and create action plans when costs start creeping up. You'll also take part in monthly operating reports and supply expense planning sessions.
- Participate in value analysis meetings at the facility, division, service line, or physician led level ; sometimes you'll develop the content, sometimes you'll facilitate the whole thing.
- Work with clinical product value analysis committees to review products and technology. That means looking at clinical evidence, financial considerations (contract compliance, cost, reimbursement), opportunities to standardize products and cut waste, all while maintaining or improving product quality and patient outcomes.
- Build real relationships with hospital leadership, the chief medical officer, clinical directors, physicians, value analysis teams, and supply chain leadership. Your success depends on getting people on board with the plan.
- Collaborate with facility leadership and staff to identify and implement continuous quality improvement processes for supplies, technology, and even labor practices related to supply chain.
What You Need
- A bachelor's degree ; that's required straight up.
- Experience in healthcare value analysis OR clinical supply chain OR working in an acute care hospital setting. This isn't an entry level role; they need someone who already knows how these environments work.
