CDL Driver

About This Role

What you'll do

You're the one who gets it there. Your main job is to drive a commercial vehicle safely, follow all the rules, and make sure every piece of freight arrives in one piece. It's physical work where you're thinking ahead all day.

  • Start each shift with a full inspection of your truck and trailer. If something's off, you need to catch it.
  • You'll be loading materials onto flatbeds or boom trucks at the yard, then unloading them at job sites. These are commercial and residential spots.
  • Getting the materials exactly where the customer wants them is key, but never at the expense of safety; yours or anyone else's.
  • The paperwork matters. You'll maintain records to stay compliant with state and federal regulations.
  • If there's an accident involving you or company equipment, you report it. No exceptions.
  • The materials are heavy. We're talking up to 100 pounds or more for some items when loading and unloading. You need the stamina for that.
  • How you interact with people defines the job. Excellent customer service and a professional attitude are non negotiable.

What we need from you

This isn't an entry level driving gig. We need someone who knows their way around a rig and understands the responsibility that comes with it.

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is mandatory. At minimum, we need a Class B license; having a Class A is a huge plus.
  • Your driving record needs to be clear for the last three years on your Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • A solid working knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations is part of the job.

The person for this job

We can teach systems, but we hire character. The folks who do well here share a few traits beyond just knowing how to drive.

  • You do what's right, even when no one's watching. Trust and integrity aren't just words here.
  • You put others first and value different points of view; it makes us all better.
  • You can work on your own just fine but know how to be part of something bigger when needed.
  • Sometimes you lead, sometimes you execute, sometimes you delegate; you figure out what's needed in the moment while working with others.
  • Building good relationships with everyone from coworkers to management comes naturally to you.
  • A sense of initiative drives you; you see what needs doing and get after it without being told every step.
