The role

This is a Registered Nurse position in the Cardiovascular ICU at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. You'll coordinate and deliver high quality, patient centered care here. It's work that matters, and your voice carries weight ; whether you're hashing things out directly with your manager or contributing to hospital councils and national nursing initiatives.

What you'll actually do

Your work follows a solid framework: Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage. Here's what that looks like day to day:

• Collaborate with medical providers and the care team to deliver individualized, compassionate care using established nursing models
• Perform procedures, monitoring, and other functions ordered by medical providers
• Document care in the patient medical record, timely and thoroughly
• Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, status, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow up measures
• Translate complex medical terminology so people actually understand what's happening
• Advise on non medicinal follow up measures like diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes
• Prepare patients and families for future self management
• Manage evidence based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to hit quality measures and improve patient care
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic treatment plan that supports recovery
• Act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers
• Model a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values

What you need to qualify

• A Bachelors Degree, Associate Degree, or Diploma in Registered Nursing
• An active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification ; must be obtained within 6 months of your start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification ; must be obtained within 30 days of your start date
