Bank Teller

BMO Financial·Milwaukee, WI

About This Role

What you'll be doing at BMO in Milwaukee, WI

We're looking for a part time Bank Teller to work roughly 20 hours per week at our branch in Milwaukee, WI. Your schedule will flex week to week depending on what the branch needs, with business hours running Monday through Friday plus Saturday mornings. Some weeks you might work different days, different shifts, and that's normal here.

In this role, you're the first person customers see when they walk into our lobby. You'll welcome them, help them figure out what they need and point them toward digital or self serve options when it makes sense. When it doesn't, you handle their transactions directly ; accurately and efficiently. But it's more than just processing transactions. You'll sit down with customers, ask questions about their everyday banking and credit card needs, and offer advice that actually helps them. You'll look for opportunities to connect them with specialists for more complex solutions like business banking or investments.

Beyond customer conversations, you keep things running smoothly: managing inventory, following up on applications, filing paperwork, opening and closing the branch. You catch problems early and escalate when needed. And you always stay aware of compliance rules ; protecting customer privacy and reporting anything suspicious related to money laundering.

What we need from you

  • One to two years of relevant experience (or a certification in a related field). An equivalent mix of education and experience works too.
  • Real confidence using social media, tablets, smartphones, online tools and apps ; not just basic familiarity but actual comfort.
  • A background in consultative customer service or sales roles where your focus was delivering a personal experience for each person.
  • Basic knowledge of specialized sales options so you know when to refer a customer to someone else on the team.
  • A genuine drive to help people and build real connections with every customer who walks through the door.
  • You're comfortable approaching customers on your own initiative ; no one has to nudge you.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills plus strong organizational instincts.
  • A knack for listening carefully, solving problems as they come up and adapting quickly when things change.
  • The ability to collaborate well across different roles as part of a small branch team.

The pay part

The salary range for this role is $41,714.00 to $50,000.00 annually. Since this is a part time position (20 hours per week), your actual pay will be pro rated based on those hours. Where your pay lands depends on things like your location within Milwaukee, WI, your specific skills and experience level. This is a salaried pay type.

A note on applying:

The application deadline for this posting is May 3rd 2026 if not filled sooner. If you're interested don't wait long to submit your materials through JobXi using the standard application process outlined there.
