Medical Director

What this role is about

Hammocks Veterinary Hospital is growing, and we need a Medical Director to lead the practice in Miami, FL. This is a role for an experienced DVM who wants to shape clinical direction, mentor a team, and deliver high quality medicine ; without stepping away from hands on clinical work. You'll partner with hospital leadership to drive medical excellence, support the team through growth, and make real decisions about protocols, workflows, and culture.

Bilingual candidates are highly preferred. Our client base is diverse, and clear communication in multiple languages makes a big difference here.

We've been around since 1989, caring for pets and their families in Miami, FL. Our hospital focuses on comprehensive wellness care, dentistry, surgery, and advanced treatment for illnesses. We use state of the art technology to get accurate assessments and effective treatment plans. The standard here is high, and as Medical Director, you'll be the person who keeps it that way while guiding the team into the next phase of growth.

What you'll actually do

• Lead and uphold medical quality and standards of care across the entire hospital
• Mentor and support associate veterinarians and clinical staff ; help them grow and do their best work
• Work with hospital leadership on hiring, training, and developing the team
• Drive a collaborative, positive, and high performing team culture
• Help shape protocols, workflows, and the overall clinical direction of the practice
• Balance leadership responsibilities with seeing your own patients ; you're still a clinician first

What you need to bring

You're a licensed DVM with enough experience to lead ; not just in title, but in practice. You know what high quality medicine looks like, and you've got the judgment and people skills to help others get there too. Bilingual skills (Spanish and English) are highly preferred. You should be comfortable with mentorship, conflict resolution, and partnering with leadership on decisions that affect the whole team.
