The Gig
This is a part time Event Staff and Security role with BEST Crowd Management in Miami, FL. You'll blend customer service with security work, making sure people have a good time and stay safe doing it. Pay is between $10.50 and $12 an hour.
What You'll Actually Do
- Help set up equipment, signage, and anything else needed before events start.
- Check access points and do security screenings to keep unauthorized people out.
- Answer attendee questions, give directions, and offer friendly help when they need it.
- Work alongside event staff and other security folks to keep everything organized.
- Manage crowds at entry and exit points so things flow smoothly without bottlenecks.
- Respond quickly to incidents or emergencies by following the company's protocols.
- Watch event areas to make sure everybody follows the rules and safety procedures.
- Handle complaints or conflicts calmly and professionally when they come up.
- Follow all company policies so the service stays sharp and consistent every shift.
What You Need
- Age: At least 18 years old (local regs might demand older).
- Education: High school diploma or GED; some college is nice but not required.
- Experience: Previous time in event security, law enforcement, or something similar helps but isn't mandatory.
- Physical stuff: You can stand or walk for long stretches without quitting.
- Skills: Sharp observation skills plus solid problem solving instincts. Good communication matters here too ; talking to strangers is half the job.
- Scheduling: Flexible enough to work evenings, weekends, holidays depending on events rolling out that week.
- Certs & checks:A valid security license if your local area requires one (or willingness to get it). You'll also need to pass a background check plus a drug screening before starting.
