Green Bay Packaging

Sales Representative

About This Role

Alright, let's talk about this sales job. It's not just another territory to cover; it's a chance to build something in the Southwest for a company that's been doing things its own way for a long time.

The Role

You'd be the person responsible for our business across Arizona, California, Nevada, and New Mexico. That means you're managing the full cycle: finding new customers, keeping current ones happy, and hitting your numbers. You won't be doing it from a cubicle, either. This is a remote role with plenty of flexibility on how you manage your patch, though you should expect to be on the road 2 or 3 nights most weeks.

  • Put together and run the sales plan for your territory to meet revenue and profit targets.
  • Your main job is building real relationships. It's consultative selling; you need to understand what a client actually needs.
  • Hunt for new business and shepherd opportunities all the way through to closing the deal.
  • Crafting proposals, estimates, and bids that fit each customer's specific situation.
  • Working with our internal teams is non negotiable. You're the bridge to make sure we deliver what you promise.
  • Keeping an eye on what competitors are up to and spotting new trends in packaging.
  • And yes, there's paperwork. Reports, expenses; the usual admin that comes with the territory.

What You Need To Bring

We're looking for someone who's done this before in an industrial setting and knows how to navigate complex B2B sales. A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or something similar is required.

  • A solid 5 to 10 years of proven success in industrial B2B sales.
  • You have to communicate clearly, negotiate well, and present yourself professionally.
  • This isn't widget sales. You need the technical aptitude to grasp our products and how they're made.
  • Be good with Microsoft Office. Experience with a CRM is important; if it's Salesforce, even better.
  • A willingness to travel extensively throughout the Southwest is part of the deal.
  • We need someone who’s motivated by goals and genuinely curious about solving customer problems.

The Details

The pay structure includes a base salary plus performance based incentives. On top of that, the benefits package is comprehensive. It covers medical, dental, and vision insurance. There are wellness programs, life insurance, short term and long term disability coverage. For retirement, there’s a company matching 401(k) plan and a pension plan. Do note that specific benefits can vary by position or division within the company.

A Bit About Green Bay Packaging

The company started back in 1933 and it’s still family owned. They’re vertically integrated; which means they control a lot of the process themselves; with corrugated plants, carton facilities, mills that make containerboard from recycled and virgin fiber, label plants, timberlands, and more. Headquartered in Green Bay, Wisconsin but with over 5,000 people working across more than 40 facilities in 16 states. Their focus is on innovative product development and sustainable forestry. Safety, quality, and getting better every day are their big priorities.
