
About This Role
Baptist Urgent Care in Memphis, TN needs an X Ray Technologist. You'd be doing the imaging work, but you're also stepping in to help with medical assistant duties throughout the shift. It's a clinical role where you're moving from room to room.
What you'll do on a typical day
Your main focus is performing radiology procedures so the provider can evaluate and treat patients. That means operating the diagnostic equipment, developing film, and getting the room ready with all the necessary supplies.
- You greet patients when they come into the waiting area or an exam room.
- Keeping people informed about wait times and directing them on what comes next is a big part of it.
- We need you to obtain vital signs, document a brief patient history, and list current medications or allergies.
- Assisting providers with procedures and helping with patient transfers are also part of the job.
- You'll follow strict protocols for patient safety, including proper radiation protection and shielding techniques.
- If equipment isn't working right, you report any malfunctions to the Manager or the provider on duty.
- Sometimes you'll help front desk staff with patient check in or check out if they need a hand.
- Making follow up calls to patients is done with a sense of urgency.
The schedule
This is a full time position. You'd work a rotating 36 to 40 hours each week on 12 hour weekday shifts, plus every other weekend.
We also hire PRN (per diem) staff who are scheduled when we need them.
What you need to have
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- You must have a current BLS Certification.
- A valid State of Arkansas X Ray License is non negotiable for this role.
- ARRT Certification is preferred; we'd really like to see it.
- Any prior experience working as a Medical Assistant is also preferred but not mandatory.
