A Word About This Role

This isn't a run of the mill urgent care gig. You'll be working with patients of all ages at Baptist Urgent Care in Memphis, TN. They handle everything from acute injuries to chronic conditions, and they take it seriously. You're there to diagnose, treat, and educate ; and you'll do it alongside a solid team of healthcare professionals.

What You'll Actually Do

Here's what's on the table. It's not a checklist you'll memorize; it's the day to day reality of the job.

• Provide genuine, friendly customer service to patients, visitors, and coworkers ; every person who walks through that door.
• Perform medical assessments, treatments, and follow ups. That includes primary care, urgent care, occupational health, DOT physicals, and workers' comp cases.
• Do procedures like laceration repairs, nail removals, pap tests, injections, splinting, and abscess incision and drainage.
• Set and monitor a medically appropriate level of care for each patient.
• Oversee on site lab work, X rays, injections, and collections for direct access services (if applicable).
• Keep your clinical skills sharp and current ; that's non negotiable.
• Work with Center Leadership to keep operations consistent with medical policy and professional standards.
• Help develop, implement, and revise policies that affect medical practice, quality of care, and patient satisfaction.
• Participate in in service and continuing education programs for physicians, nurses, and other staff.
• Recommend ways to grow or improve services within the center.
• Make sure you're compliant with licensing, certification, and accrediting bodies.
• Help develop and present educational programs for staff.
• Represent the company at internal or external meetings or events when needed.
• Guide other medical staff (like PAs, NPs, and MAs) to keep quality high and patients happy.
• Stay calm and take charge during emergencies ; patients need to see you're steady.

What You Need to Bring

• At least 1 year of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (preferred).
• An active state license as an APRN or PA in Tennessee.
• Current Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA C) Board Certification.
• A current DEA license ; or you need to be eligible to get one when you start.
• Current DOT certification, or a willingness to get it after you're hired.
• Current BLS certification.

Schedule Details

Full time team members work a rotating schedule of 30 to 40 hours per week. Shifts are 12 hours long, and you'll work every other weekend. PRN (per diem) team members get scheduled as needed ; no set hours.
