About This Role

Med/Surg Charge Nurse

Hospitals in the Memphis, TN area are hiring for a Med/Surg Charge Nurse. If you've got experience as an Assistant Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Coordinator, or in a supervisory role, your background could be a great fit. They're also looking for nurses with specific clinical experience.

What You'll Do

You'll lead the shift on a medical surgical unit. That means coordinating patient care, supporting your team of nurses, and handling the flow of the floor. Your day is built around patient needs and team support.

  • Oversee care for a diverse patient population, which can include cardiac, neuro, oncology, or orthopedic patients.
  • Manage essential nursing tasks like EKG monitoring, operating PCA pumps, and wound or drain care.
  • You're responsible for more complex care procedures too; think tube feeding management, ostomy care, or traction and cast care.
  • Provide couplet care for mothers and newborns, which includes fundal massage.
  • The focus is always on healing and creating a supportive environment for both patients and staff.

Shifts & Schedule

They have openings across all shifts: day shift, night shift, and mid shift. You can find a schedule that works for you because they're hiring for full time, part time, and per diem positions.

What You Need to Have

  • An ADN/ASN degree or higher from an accredited nursing school.
  • A current Georgia RN license that's active and unencumbered.
  • A background in any of these areas gives you a strong edge: Assistant Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, Clinical Nurse Coordinator, Supervisor, Director, Educator, CNO/VP roles.

The Pay & Benefits

The salary range for this role is $59,640 to $100,000 per year. What you get within that range depends on your experience and the specifics of the position you take.
