The Role at a Glance
This full time Prep Cook position is with our Constellation division at the Tappan Hill Mansion in Manhattan, NY. You'll be joining a kitchen crew that's serious about food but doesn't take itself too seriously. If you've got at least a year of serious cooking under your belt and you want to work somewhere that actually cares about your growth, keep reading.
What You'll Do
- Prep food and control portions ; making sure every plate is consistent
- Handle food storage properly, because nobody wants a walk in that looks like a disaster
- Present food creatively and keep the kitchen clean and organized
- Follow safe food handling policies, procedures, and recipes every shift
What We Need From You
- At least one year of prior culinary experience in a quality, high volume place where scratch cooking was the norm
- Working knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques, and standards ; you know your way around a knife and a stove
- You're sharp with details and can juggle multiple tasks without dropping the ball
- Comfortable using various kitchen equipment and tools, and you can tell your shallots from your scallions
- Customer service experience is required ; our guests matter

Compensation & Benefits
The pay range is $18 to $20 an hour, based on experience.
