About This Role
What you’ll actually be doing
This is a remote role with a financial services SaaS company that’s investing in its mobile apps right now. You won’t be stuck maintaining old code. You’ll work on feature upgrades and new development for their mobile applications, focusing heavily on Android and Kotlin development.
The big thing here? You’ll build Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) modules and compile them into iOS applications. That means you’re not just writing Android code ; you’re making it work across platforms.
The team operates remotely, mostly on Eastern and Central time, and they actually collaborate. It’s not one of those “remote but you’re on your own” setups. This company puts engineering first ; they care about the tools you use and the teams you’re in.
What you need to bring
- A BS or BA degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- At least 6 years of Android experience building applications or libraries
- 4 years or more of Kotlin experience
- 2 years of iOS or Swift experience, building applications or libraries
- Real experience with Kotlin Multiplatform development ; not just knowing what it is
- Strong multithreaded and asynchronous programming skills
- Unit testing experience with dependency injection ; think JUnit, Mockito, MockK, Robolectric, or Swift Testing
- You’ve communicated with external devices via USB, Bluetooth, or TCP/IP
- Agile and Scrum experience
- You’ve created AARs, JARs, iOS Frameworks, or Swift Modules
- A solid interest in tooling and the development process, including continuous integration
- You understand data security, encryption handling, compliance, and data privacy laws
- Commitment to industry best practices: source code control, architecture, coding structure, unit/system testing
What you get in return
- Salary between $120,000 and $170,000 per year
- Annual bonus on top of that
- Strong health insurance coverage
- Gym reimbursement
- 401k with matching
- Full remote work ; no commuting nonsense
