HR/Recruiter

About This Role

Let's talk about the work

You'd be helping the HR Director with a wide range of tasks. It's a mix of recruitment, administration, and employee support.

Your main focus is filling every hourly position for the property, and you need to do it quickly. There's paperwork that has to be right and on time. You'll also help everyone understand our policies, and you're part of enforcing them.

  • Running the show for benefits: calculating bills, explaining plans, helping folks enroll, and answering their questions.
  • Handling all sorts of logs and reports. We're talking turnover, new hires, terminations, promotions, leaves of absence, workers' comp claims, even first aid incidents.
  • You'll conduct prescreening interviews and schedule New Hire Orientation.
  • Part of your week involves payroll data entry for wages and changes.
  • Responding to unemployment claims is on your list.
  • You'll audit payroll hours to check benefit eligibility and put together wage surveys.
  • We have a company newsletter; you'd write articles and take pictures for it.
  • Planning employee events like parties or picnics happens here too.
  • There's a complimentary room log for employee requests that you'll manage.
  • Preparing and placing recruitment ads is part of getting those roles filled.
  • Processing termination paperwork falls under this role.

The background we need

A four year college degree is required. And you've been in this game for at least three years in progressive HR management within a hotel or a closely related industry.

  • Your recruitment experience has to be in hospitality. That's non negotiable.
  • You've worked in a union environment before. That experience is required.
  • You've had previous supervisory responsibility over a team.

A few more things about how we work

The schedule varies based on what the hotel needs. You must maintain regular attendance based on that schedule. Long hours happen sometimes. All hotel required meetings and trainings are part of the job; you need to attend them. You'll also participate in Manager on Duty (M.O.D.) coverage when it's required.

The physical side & other expectations

The work is mostly sedentary but does involve frequently exerting up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
