Registered Nurse
About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this RN role at Encompass Health in Madison, WI. I've been placing nurses here for a while, and what they do is pretty specific. It's inpatient rehabilitation. You're not just passing meds; you're guiding people through one of the toughest journeys of their life, from major surgery or illness back to independence. The small wins here feel huge.
What you'd be doing
You're the hub of the wheel for your patients. You'll supervise their care and treatments, lead their assessments, and build the care plan that's right for them. A big part of the job is listening; really hearing patient concerns and figuring out how to help.
- You build real relationships with patients and their families. Understanding what they're going through is how you help them recover.
- It's all about teamwork. You'll collaborate with therapy, doctors, and other departments every day to make sure care is coordinated.
- When it's needed, you provide direct patient care yourself.
- The other nurses will look to you as a resource, especially when cases get complex.
- And my favorite part? You get to celebrate the victories. When someone walks again or goes home, you were a key part of that.
The specifics we need
- A valid RN license for our state.
- Current CPR certification. If you have your ACLS, that's a definite plus.
- Ideally, you've spent at least a year working in a rehab hospital setting. That experience is preferred.
- If you're a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) or interested in becoming one, that's great too.
