Maintenance Technician

The Job

Agropur is looking for a Maintenance Technician III in Madison, WI. This is an advanced role on the 2 2-3 schedule, 12 hour night shifts from 6pm to 6am. You'll keep our processing and packaging lines running safely and efficiently. The starting rate is between $28 and $38 an hour, based on your skills, education, training, and experience. You'll also get two pay increases within a year, up to $1.00 more.

What You'll Do

This isn't a simple fix it job. You'll be the person who leads troubleshooting and keeps things moving. Here's a look at the work:

• Perform routine maintenance and break down repairs on processing and packaging equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems during production.
• Handle equipment setup, rebuilds, installations, and upgrades.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, manuals, and technical diagrams.
• Work with production utilities like compressed air, steam, and water systems.
• Lead advanced electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Mentor and support Technician I and II team members.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and equipment reliability projects.
• Take part in capital projects and equipment upgrades.
• In some locations (specifically Little Chute), you'll oversee the preventive maintenance program.
• Communicate with previous and upcoming shift teams to make sure nothing slips through.
• Collaborate with Production Supervisors, line leaders, and operators.
• Perform all maintenance per SOPs, GMPs, and OSHA standards.
• Prepare and set up equipment for scheduled production runs.
• Maintain precise and up to date maintenance records.

What You Need

You need a High School Diploma or equivalent. Technical school coursework or a degree in boiler, welding, electrical, or HVAC maintenance is preferred, but we'll consider an equivalent combination of education and experience. This role requires strong leadership and high level technical skills, particularly with automated processing and packaging equipment.
