About This Role
The Work
You'll load and unload roofing materials from delivery trucks using both your hands and mechanical equipment. Lots of it happens on rooftops ; flat ones and sloped ones ; on residential homes and commercial buildings. You'll operate conveyor belt systems to move materials from flatbed trucks up to the roof, but only after you've been trained and certified on that equipment. You'll verify and reconcile material orders to make sure everything matches. And you'll work directly with roofing contractors, giving them the service they expect.
Safety and Coordination
Safety isn't optional here. You'll follow OSHA regulations and company protocols without exception. That means wearing a hard hat, safety harness, and gloves every shift. You'll work closely with drivers and other crew members to keep the loading and unloading process running smoothly. The work is outdoors, so you'll deal with whatever weather comes your way. There's loud machinery noise ; that's just part of the job.
