Inside Sales Representative at SRS Building Products

We're looking for someone to own the sales process from start to finish here in Madison, WI. You'll be the person who finds new customers, wins back the ones who left, and keeps everything running smoothly for the people who already trust us. This is a building materials role, so you'll work with contractors, builders, and suppliers who rely on getting the right products at the right time.

You'll make outbound calls every day, manage customer accounts using CRM tools, and handle order processing without missing a detail. You'll work alongside the outside sales team, the credit team, and the lead generation crew to keep accounts healthy and find fresh opportunities. You'll prepare product demonstrations, put together presentations, and write proposals for potential clients. Tracking and reporting your sales performance in the CRM is part of the routine. You'll also collaborate with the Sales Enablement Team to drive revenue and push digital tools that make everyone more efficient.

What you'll do day to day

  • Identify and qualify new business leads and opportunities
  • Build relationships with internal teams and external customers to maximize sales
  • Support the outside sales team by managing customer accounts and processing orders
  • Prepare product demos, presentations, and proposals for potential clients
  • Track and report sales performance using the sales CRM
  • Make proactive outbound calls to at least 15 customers daily using CRM tools
  • Work with Credit and Lead Generation teams to maintain accounts, speed up order cycles, and find new opportunities
  • Keep thorough records of sales interactions, quotes, and transactions
  • Stay current on product innovations, market trends, and competitor activity
  • Drive adoption of digital resources to improve efficiency and sales effectiveness

Who you are

You've got solid communication skills in both verbal and written form. You're comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite ; Outlook, Word, Excel ; and you know your way around relationship management software and the Internet. You bring a problem solving mindset and you genuinely care about customer satisfaction. You're organized, you manage your time well, and you pay attention to the small stuff. You've got an entrepreneurial spirit and you're self motivated. And you believe in the "one team, one fight" approach to working with others.

If you're bilingual in English and Spanish, that's a plus, but it's not required.

Experience and education we need

A high school diploma is required. A bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. You need demonstrated experience helping customers with purchasing needs, either in person or over the phone. And you need proven experience or a strong interest in generating new sales through proactive calls to potential customers.

Preferred experience includes inside sales or B2B sales roles, knowledge of building materials or our industry, and experience with CRM systems for tracking and customer communication. Proficiency in English and Spanish is also preferred, along with the ability to manage priorities, maintain records, and run data driven analyses. Representing the company at trade shows and industry events is a plus, as is a commitment to professional growth and staying on top of industry trends. Expertise in advanced Microsoft Office functions and effective collaboration with sales teams and external partners are also preferred.

Requirements you'll need to meet

  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and reliable transportation
  • Pass a criminal and driving background check, plus a pre employment drug test

Schedule and travel

This role involves prolonged desk work and computer use, with repetitive hand movements and fine motor skills. Occasionally you'll need to lift up to 15 pounds. Travel is minimal ; just some trade shows, industry association events, and company events to support sales and customer relationships.

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and paid holidays.
