Job Overview
This Fleet Maintenance Technician role is about keeping vehicles road ready and operations running smoothly. You'll spend your days in a shop environment in Madison, WI, handling diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance. It's hands on work where you're expected to own the problem from start to finish.
Duties & Responsibilities ; JobXi / Madison, WI
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles. You'll check brakes, tires, fluid levels, and belts. If it rolls, you're looking at it before it breaks down.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools. That includes engine warning lights that shouldn't be ignored or odd sounds from under the hood. You find the root cause fast.
- Execute light electrical repairs ; wiring harnesses, lights, batteries and alternators. Not heavy duty electric work but enough to keep everything lit up starting every morning shift without fail.
- Complete timely preventative service like oil changes filter replacements tire rotations according to strict schedules that non negotiable across our client’s operations in Madison, WI .
- Document all work done using digital inspection forms or paper logs depending on what that employer uses day to day tracking parts used hours labor costs accuracy counts big here.
