Job Overview

This role is for a Vascular RN who’ll handle patients with complex circulatory conditions. You’re stepping into a clinical environment where vascular access, wound care, and post surgical monitoring are the daily rhythm. The job sits in Lubbock, TX, and it involves working alongside surgeons, interventional radiologists, and other specialty nurses. It isn’t a desk gig ; you’re on your feet, moving between patient rooms and recovery bays.

• Manage vascular access devices. You’ll insert, maintain, and troubleshoot central lines and PICCs. This isn’t just technical work ; it requires constant vigilance for infections or clots.
• Monitor post procedure patients. After angioplasty, stenting, or bypass surgery, you track vitals, pulse checks, and bleeding sites. Any change in limb color or sensation gets escalated immediately.
• Educate patients on self care. Teaching someone how to care for a new graft or fistula takes patience. You break down wound care steps so they stick outside the hospital.
• Coordinate with the care team. You relay updates to physicians during rounds and pass shift details clearly to the next nurse. No dropped balls allowed.
• Triage urgent issues. A sudden loss of pulse in a revascularized leg? That gets fast tracked back to the OR prep area while you stabilize the patient.

• A current RN license in your state of practice ; that’s non negotiable here in Lubbock, TX.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or equivalent; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred but not always mandatory at hire.
• At least one year of acute care nursing experience is typical; two years if you want to step into a higher acuity unit directly without orientation extensions.
• The ability to stand for long stretches ; these shifts involve walking multiple miles inside the facility most days without sitting down except for breaks or charting time at a workstation cart if available on your unit .
