
About This Role
Alright, let's talk about this nursing role. It's not in a hospital; you'd be working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and program settings around Lubbock, TX. The schedule is built for consistency: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. There's an on call component to it as well.
What You'd Be Doing
The core of the job is managing health for the people we serve. You're the clinical point person.
- You’ll complete assessments and develop healthcare plans, then adjust them when conditions change.
- A big part of the day is communication; coordinating with doctors, clinics, and pharmacies to make sure everyone's on the same page medically.
- You provide training and medical oversight to the direct support staff team so they can carry out care plans effectively.
- Monitoring physician orders to ensure they're documented correctly and followed precisely is central to the role.
- Your input on health services is needed for each individual's personal service plan.
- The job involves travel between different service locations in the area to support staff and individuals. You need to be accessible.
What We Need From You
These aren't just checkboxes; they're what lets you do the job well and safely.
- You have to be a graduate from an accredited RN program.
- A current, unrestricted RN license for the state is mandatory.
- We're looking for at least one year of experience working directly with people who have intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- You need a valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and vehicle registration. The travel part is real.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification is required.
- This isn't a role where you just follow a script. Strong assessment skills and the ability to think critically in clinical situations are essential.
- Clear communication isn't optional. You'll be talking with your team, medical professionals, the individuals we serve, and their families every day.
The Practical Stuff
The pay range for this position is $72,000 - $74,000 per year. You get reimbursed for any work related travel mileage between sites. The benefits kick in if you're working 32 hours or more each week.
