It's hands on work where attention to detail really matters ; one missed label can mess up an entire order. Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up packaging lines ; grab materials like boxes, tape, and cushioning before the shift starts so there's no downtime.
- Operate basic packaging machinery, like sealers or shrink wrap equipment. You won't need to be a mechanic, but you should know when something sounds off.
- Inspect products for defects as they come through. If you spot a dent or tear, pull it aside before it gets boxed up.
- Label and scan packages using handheld scanners or a computer terminal. Accuracy here is non negotiable.
- Keep your station clean and organized ; empty cardboard bales go to the compactor, spillage gets wiped up immediately.
- Assist with inventory counts when needed; sometimes you'll count boxes of finished goods at the end of a run.

- The ability to stand for long stretches, often 8 to 10 hours per shift with breaks built in. You'll be on your feet most of the time.
- A knack for following written instructions. Batch sheets and product specs change daily ; missing a step can mean redoing an entire pallet.
- A steady hand for repetitive motions. Wrapping things by hand all day requires some stamina and basic hand eye coordination.
- A willingness to lift 25–50 pounds regularly. Heavier items might need help from a coworker or lifting equipment ; just know your limits.
