This Journeyman Electrician role is for someone who wants to diagnose, repair, and replace residential electrical systems. You'll also guide homeowners toward smart buying decisions by giving them an extraordinary experience.
Schedule
You'll work Monday through Friday on day shift.
What You'll Actually Do
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in homes ; wiring, outlets, switches, circuit breakers, and lighting fixtures
- Perform electrical inspections and troubleshooting to find and fix problems
- Make sure all electrical work meets safety codes, electrical standards, and local regulations
- Read blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical codes to plan out installations
- Do routine maintenance on electrical systems so they stay safe and perform well over the long haul
- Give homeowners accurate estimates and timelines for their projects
- Work closely with homeowners, contractors, and other tradespeople to keep projects running smoothly
- Document everything you do ; repairs, upgrades, inspections, all of it
- Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and safety practices
- Be available for on call service rotation
What You Need
- 3+ years of experience in electrical work, preferably residential
- A valid Journeyman's license
- A valid driver's license to drive a company vehicle
- Comfortable using hand tools and power tools
- Proficient with test meters and other diagnostic equipment
- Solid analytical and problem solving skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Stuff
- Must be able to see color ; you'll need it to identify color coded wiring
- Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding
- Physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits
- Able to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 50 pounds
