General/Operations Manager

What you’ll be doing

You’ll report to the Plant Manager and run daily plant production operations at Louisville, KY. This isn’t a desk job ; you’ll be on the floor guiding production supervisors, giving them direction, coaching, and support so they hit their production goals and keep their teams engaged.

You’ll also implement a plant specific vision that ties directly into enterprise goals. That means driving continuous improvement, sharing results and action plans with employees and cross functional teams, and stepping in as Plant Manager temporarily when needed to keep things running smoothly. Partnering with production planning and materials management to improve schedule completion and customer service is part of it too.

Collaboration matters here. You’ll work with Human Resources to handle employee concerns quickly and maintain a positive culture. You’ll team up with Finance to develop and manage capital budgets and keep financial stewardship tight. And you’ll initiate cost savings actions around crewing, standards, yields, and overall operational efficiency.

Safety and quality aren’t optional. You’ll champion a culture of safety across every plant activity. You’ll ensure all quality standards, regulatory requirements, and product specifications are met. Food safety is a top priority ; you’ll report issues, support corrective actions, and drive accountability.

What you need to bring

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, Food Science, Management, Product Operations, or a related field
• 5–7 years of manufacturing experience
• 3–5 years of management or supervisory experience leading production teams
• Food industry experience in a unionized environment is preferred
• Mathematical and statistical knowledge to support decisions and analysis
• Financial knowledge for budgeting, cost management, and performance reporting
• Relocation assistance is available for this position

The pay and benefits

The annual salary range for this role is $107,000 to $156,000. Your actual salary will be based on location, relevant experience and skillset, while balancing internal equity at Conagra.
