The Gig

You'd be driving a Class B truck for Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits in Louisville, KY. They're the big name in wine and spirits distribution ; family owned since 1933 and one of Forbes' Top Private Companies. This isn't some generic warehouse gig. You're getting product into bars, restaurants, and hotels all over Louisville, KY. It's a real job with real responsibility.

What You'll Actually Do

• Deliver products statewide to customer locations like bars, restaurants, and hotels
• Run pre trip and post trip inspections on the vehicle every day
• Sort merchandise by the invoice before you deliver it
• Collect payments for the goods you deliver
• Check in your money and returned goods with the Driver Check in & Accounting Cashier at the end of each shift
• Fill out all required paperwork daily ; that includes your DOT logbook and the driver vehicle inspection report (DVIR)
• Show up to work neat, clean, and properly dressed per the company uniform standards
• Plan your trip logistics and grab the documents you need to move the goods
• Load and unload cargo, making sure safety equipment gets used properly
• Secure the cargo so it's compliant with safety requirements
• Report any incidents to the dispatcher right away
• Follow all traffic laws ; no exceptions
• Keep the vehicle, product, and equipment clean and in working condition
• Handle other related duties as they come up

What You'll Need

• A high school diploma or equivalency, plus at least 1 year of experience
• A valid Class B Commercial Driver's License
• You must be at least 21 years old

The Physical Side of Things

This job is on your feet. You'll walk, bend, reach, stand, squat, and stoop quite a bit. You need to regularly lift, lower, push, carry, or pull up to 48 pounds. There's also regular sitting and operating machinery like a forklift, pallet jacks, and battery change stations. The work involves repetitive motions, working at different heights, and spending time in a warehouse environment. Expect extended hours, overtime, weekends, and peak season schedules.

The Pay

You'd earn $25.50 per hour. The final offer depends on your specific education, skills, and experience ; they evaluate it all.
