Duties & Responsibilities

• Assess patients presenting with non life threatening conditions. Take histories, perform physical exams, order tests.
• Treat common urgent issues like sprains, respiratory infections, skin rashes, and minor burns.
• Perform procedures such as suturing wound care draining abscesses or setting simple fractures.
• Interpret lab results X rays and EKGs to make treatment decisions quickly.
• Write prescriptions provide aftercare instructions and schedule follow ups if needed.
• Maintain clear thorough documentation in electronic health records within tight timeframes.

Requirements

• A valid state license as a Physician Assistant Nurse Practitioner or MD/DO in Los Angeles, CA is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in urgent care emergency medicine or family practice settings.
• You should be comfortable with suturing splinting wound repair and basic procedural sedation.
• A DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances is necessary for this role.
• The job demands standing walking and bending for most of each shift along with handling emotionally intense situations calmly.
